College Day 2026 & Farewell Function

The St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women,Ernakulam successfully conducted College Day 2026 and Farewell Function in honour of the retiring Principal, Prof. Sr. Betty P J. The event was organized with great enthusiasm, reverence, and gratitude, celebrating the achievements of the institution and paying a heartfelt tribute to the distinguished service of the Principal.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the welcome address delivered by the Vice Principal Dr.Josephine Joseph. The Annual Report of the college was presented by Prof. Sr. Betty P J, highlighting the academic excellence, co-curricular achievements, and institutional progress during the year. The College Union Report was presented by the General Secretary Ms Krishnapriya Santhosh, reflecting vibrant student activities and achievements.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Mother Grace Therese CMC, who appreciated the institution’s commitment to quality teacher education and acknowledged the remarkable leadership of the retiring Principal. The inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Hibi Eden, Member of Parliament, Ernakulam, who lauded the contributions of the college in shaping competent educators and congratulated the Principal for her dedicated service.

A significant highlight of the programme was the formal honouring of the retiring Principal by adorning her with a ponnada and recognizing her immense contributions to the institution. The keynote address was delivered by Mother Little Flower, who presented management’s token of gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Sr. Betty P J for her visionary leadership and selfless service.

The prize distribution ceremony, led by Mother Grace Therese CMC, recognized the outstanding achievements of students in academic and co-curricular domains. Felicitations were offered by several dignitaries including Dr. Sr. Vimal Jose, Rev. Dr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, Prof. Dr. Sibu G Netto, Prof. Dr. Sumitha P S, Dr. Sicily A A, Mrs. Mary Christina T J, Mr. David J Pynadath, Ms. Joicee P J, Ms. Sneha Johnson, and Ms. Teena Baby. Each speaker fondly recalled the inspiring leadership, academic vision, and motherly guidance of the retiring Principal.

In her emotional reply, Prof. Sr. Betty P J expressed deep gratitude to the management, staff, students, alumni, and well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout her tenure. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Ansuree C, followed by the College Anthem, cultural programmes, and the National Anthem.
