The Kerala State Higher Education Council, under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, organized a One Day Workshop on Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) on 11th July 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the auditorium of St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women, Ernakulam.

The event was inaugurated by Hon. Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr. R. Bindu, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the transformative vision of ITEP under NEP 2020.

The formal session began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) T. Mohammed Saleem, Governing Body Member, KSHEC. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Rajan Varughese, Member Secretary, KSHEC. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Betty P.J., Principal of the host college.

The keynote address was given by Prof. (Dr.) Mohan B. Menon, Chairman of the ITEP Committee, KSHEC. Dr. Mary Joseph, Manager of the host institution, offered felicitations, and Dr. Manulal P. Ram, Research Officer, KSHEC, delivered the vote of thanks.

The plenary session chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Mohan B. Menon focused on the prospects and challenges of ITEP, with a theme presentation by Prof. (Dr.) T. Mohammed Saleem.

In the afternoon, focus group discussions were held among stakeholders from DIETs, teacher training colleges, universities, SCERT, and KSHEC. This was followed by group-wise presentations and a consolidation session. The event concluded with a valedictory session and the National Anthem.

The workshop witnessed active participation and meaningful deliberations from a diverse group of stakeholders, contributing significantly to shaping the future of teacher education in Kerala.
