INTRODUCTION

A social service club is a community-based organization or group that focuses on engaging in activities and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and welfare of individuals, communities, or specific causes. These clubs often operate on a volunteer basis and are dedicated to serving others, addressing social issues, and making a positive impact on society. Margaret Mead once said, ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.’ The Social Service Club, believe in making a positive impact on the world, in being that change and making a difference in our community and beyond!

OBJECTIVES

• Foster connections within the community by organizing events, activities, and initiatives that bring people together.
• Encourage members to participate in volunteer work, community service projects, and charitable activities aimed at helping those in need.
• Address social issues and promote initiatives that contribute to the welfare of society, such as poverty alleviation, education programs, health awareness campaigns, etc.
• Raise awareness about various social causes, advocating for change, and promoting understanding and empathy towards marginalized groups or important societal issues.
• Engage in activities or campaigns that promote environmental consciousness, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices within the community.

• Conduct an awareness programme on World AIDS day
• Distribute food packets to needy
• Gift atleast  50 books to H.I.J.E.P school library
• Conduct a cleaning drive on January 30 National Cleanliness Day

      INAGURATION

The inauguration of social service club activities of the academic year 2023-2024 was on November 1^st 2023 at College Auditorium. The bearers of social service club introduced themselves then the secretary present the vision, mission and action plan during the event.

ACTIVITIES 2023-24

The social service club performed a cleaning drive at H.I.J.E.P High court, Ernakulam on 4^th October 2023 at 1.30 pm. It was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Alice Joseph. The programme coordinator was Mrs. Anu Cleetus, Assistant professor. We had prepared some gifts like crayons, notebook, pencil, pen etc. for the students. The cleaning drive includes cleaning of classrooms and school surroundings. We also had indoor plants to decorate the school. The session ended at 4 pm.
